artist statement

Nonny Lorenz (1994) is a contemporary ceramic artist based in the Czech Republic. Her practice focuses on porcelain as a medium to explore the relationship between tradition, craftsmanship, and contemporary visual culture. Working primarily with hand-built and sculptural forms, she combines refined technical processes with bold, expressive aesthetics.

Lorenz’s work often reflects on the decline of traditional porcelain production and the transformation of industrial heritage. Through her projects, she addresses themes of material memory, cultural change, and the tension between the old and the new. Her artistic language is characterized by strong visual contrasts, detailed surface treatments, and a balance between provocation and elegance.

As an emerging artist, she actively exhibits her work and develops interdisciplinary projects that connect ceramics with design and conceptual art. Lorenz continues to expand her international presence while remaining deeply connected to the craft traditions that shape her artistic identity.
